Ipswich High School is a vibrant day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3-18, set in an idyllic 87-acre campus in Woolverstone on the banks of the River Orwell, just four miles outside Ipswich. With approximately 520 pupils, we are a small school with amazing facilities, which include a theatre, indoor 25 metre swimming pool, dance studio, dedicated food and design technology area, multiple outdoor sports facilities, fitness suite and a Sixth Form suite based in Woolverstone Hall. We have small classes of hard-working pupils and inspirational teachers who help to instil a love of learning, the results of which are exceptional academic outcomes year on year.

Role Description

Hours of Work: 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Ipswich High School is seeking a Finance Assistant to help support a small supportive, hardworking and dedicated finance team. This role plays an important part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring that processes run efficiently and in line with financial procedures and regulations. You will be organised, reliable and able to manage changing priorities in a busy finance environment.
Located on an idyllic 87-acre campus on the banks of the River Orwell, Ipswich High School enjoys an enviable reputation of delivering outstanding academic results whilst maintaining a warm, welcoming and happy community of over 500 pupils, aged 3 – 18.
Responsibilities
* Supports the smooth running of financial processes, including processing purchase invoices, purchase orders, payments and reconciliations, with accuracy and care
* Keeps financial records up to date and organised, using strong ICT skills and attention to detail
* Responds promptly to queries, supporting colleagues and suppliers in a professional and approachable way, building positive working relationships
* Supports key finance tasks such as reporting, audits and maintaining accurate records
* Takes a proactive, "can do" approach and actively contributes to continuous improvement processes
* Takes pride in their work
* Has strong numeracy skills and the ability to work accurately with financial information
