Primary purpose of the position: ALGA delivers two signature events each year – the National General Assembly, a three-day event in Canberra with over 1,300 conference delegates, and the National Local Roads, Transport and Infrastructure Congress, an annual two-day event in regional locations.
Throughout the year the events manager also supports other public-facing ALGA events and products as required, such as online webinars or roundtables with Ministers.
The key focus of the role is to lead and coordinate our major events, ensuring seamless delivery of operational, logistical, and program elements. This includes contract management of the event provider and stakeholder management of sponsors and suppliers.
In addition to operational oversight, you will draft key communication documents relating to the events – correspondence, promotional collateral, speeches, talking points, website and social media content.
As a representative of ALGA you will build trusted relationships with partners and stakeholders, including the Federal Government and relevant peak bodies.
This position works within a close‐knit, dynamic team with significant delegated responsibility. Regular communication within the team and with other key ALGA personnel is essential.
