About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator / Fabricator who thrives in a small shop environment where no two days are exactly the same.
Your primary focus will be setting up and operating our CNC Press Brake. You will also assist in running the laser cutting machine, managing secondary operations (deburring/sorting), and utilizing your forklift skills to keep production flowing smoothly from raw sheet to finished pallet.
Key Responsibilities
* Bending (Primary): Set up, program, and operate CNC Press Brakes to precision-fold various gauges of sheet metal.
* Laser Cutting: Run and monitor the laser cutting machine according to daily production nests.
* Secondary Operations: Deburr, clean, sort, and quality-check parts post-cut and post-fold.
* Material Handling & Dispatch: Confidently operate the forklift to load/unload materials, move pallets, and wrap/organize parts for dispatch.
* Workshop Tasks: Conduct basic machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven, autonomous experience setting up and operating CNC Press Brakes.
* A current, valid Forklift Licence (LF) with confident shop-floor experience.
* Preferred: A valid Manual Driver's Licence is highly regarded.
* Experience operating Laser Cutting machinery is a major bonus (willing to train the right candidate).
* Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and nesting sheets.
* High attention to detail—ensuring parts are deburred, counted, and sorted correctly.
* A reliable, self-motivated work ethic with a genuine \"can-do\" attitude suitable for a small business.
* Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
