Location: 3 Lyrebird Street, Buderim QLD 4556. Will be mainly based in Noosa, with requirements to work from the Buderim lab as well.
Work type: Part Time (Permanent) 30.00 hours per week
Schedule: Must be able to participate in a 24/7 roster.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Scientist who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Responsibilities include:
* Performing manual and automated diagnostic testing
* Performing all routine procedures from specimen reception to execution of results for pathological diagnosis
* Assisting with stock control
* Compliance with records maintenance and recording of results in line with protocols
* Maintaining all equipment and operating equipment in line with protocols
* Maintaining current scientific knowledge
* Participating in routine and audit‐related quality assurance activities
* Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
* Participating in training staff
* Liaising with internal or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary
* Compliance and adherence with policies and procedures, workplace health and safety procedures, and quality assurance processes
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline
* Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting
* Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification
* Ability to perform duties with a high degree of independence and infrequent supervision
* An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
* A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
* A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member
* Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

* This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department‐specific vaccine‐preventive diseases
