Downer Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) is a leader in delivering high-quality rollingstock manufacturing and overhaul services across Queensland and Australia. We're currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our growing team in Maryborough.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll play a key role within our production team, working on the assembly, maintenance, and overhaul of rollingstock. This is a hands‐on position where your expertise will contribute to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality rail solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble rollingstock and associated components
* Overhaul and assemble passenger vehicle and locomotive bogies
* Service and overhaul braking systems and pneumatic components
* Diagnose faults across various rollingstock fleets
* Complete documentation, inspection reports, and check sheets
About You
* Trade qualified – Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Fitter)
* Experience in rollingstock manufacturing or overhaul (desirable, not essential)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
* Proactive, flexible, and solutions-focused
* Professional attitude with strong communication skills
