We are currently recruiting for a federal government contractor opportunity based in Canberra.
Position details
Provide operational support for the Department's SharePoint Online (SPO) environment by managing BAU requests, maintaining compliance with our approved configuration model, and assisting with ongoing improvements to the Digital Workspaces platform. The role will work closely with the existing SharePoint Administrator and the Digital Workspaces team to ensure timely resolution of tickets, governance adherence, and a positive user experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
BAU Ticket Management
* Action and resolve incoming SPO-related incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
* Escalate complex issues to senior administrators or vendors as required.
Permissions & Access Control
* Manage SharePoint permissions, including site, library, and list-level access in line with our standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Implement and maintain SharePoint and 365 groups in line with our defined governance standards.
Configuration & Site Management
* Create, configure and maintain SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, and lists as per our configuration model.
* Apply and enforce The Treasury's Information Architecture (IA) standards, including global term store management and column configuration.
Compliance & Remediation
* Identify and remediate non-compliant sites, libraries, and content to align with our approved configuration model.
* Support periodic audits and reporting on compliance status.
Continuous Improvement
* Assist in implementing enhancements such as global navigation, hub site configuration, and template deployment.
* Contribute to SOP updates, knowledge articles, and user guidance materials.
* Other Duties as Directed
* Participate in team stand-ups, backlog reviews, and planning sessions.
Core skills and knowledge
SharePoint Online Fundamentals:
Understanding of how to configure and administer SharePoint Online components
Microsoft 365 Ecosystem:
Familiarity with integrated services like Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
Troubleshooting:
Ability to identify and resolve common SharePoint Online-related issues.
Communication:
Effectively communicating with end-users to resolve support tickets and providing clear team communication.
* ITSM Tools:
Experience using enterprise incident management and ticketing systems.
Criteria
The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a response to each criterion. Each response is limited to 3000 characters.
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in SharePoint Online administration, including permissions management, site configuration and Global Term store management.
2. Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform desirable).
3. Understanding of governance, compliance, and information architecture principles.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
5. Excellent communication skills for engaging with business users and technical teams.
Desirable
1. Capable of demonstrating examples of work where the candidate designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors simple programs/scripts. Additionally, reviews own work via independent research
2. Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result.
3. Particular experience with PowerShell PNP module.
4. Capability to obtain, or can provide evidence of active NV1 Clearance as the role requires access to PROTECTED Information Resources.
