Job Description
This permanent, part‐time opportunity offers hands on experience in the OSHC industry. You'll be supported every step of the way by a Director of Service, ensuring you have everything you need to thrive in your role.
Service location: Mooroolbark, 3138.
You'll Work Across Split Shifts, Monday To Friday
7:00 AM – 9:00 AM, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, plus 7 hours of admin.
As The Wellbeing And Inclusion Officer
* Assist on the floor with inclusion and behaviour management practices, supporting the educators with any behaviour guidance strategies and supporting children with emotional regulation so they can participate fully in the TeamKids program.
* Communicate with families about their children's behaviour and inclusion needs when required.
* Develop individual support plans in collaboration with your Director of Service and Regional Manager and mentor the educator team to implement these, ensuring a consistent approach to behaviour guidance.
* Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising TeamKids and schools' positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices.
* Be responsible for the development of funding through the ISP programme for your service, working closely with the Victorian Inclusion Agency and TeamKids Inclusion Team.
* Guide the educator team in inclusive practices to support their capacity and confidence to support children who are neuro‐divergent, display disruptive behaviours or have a trauma background.
* Work with families, school well‐being teams and therapists to implement consistent strategies to support children who are neuro‐divergent or have a trauma background in accessing our programmes.
* Attend professional development and training to develop your own knowledge and capacity of inclusive practices.
* Create resources to promote the inclusion of all children.
* Assist in the development of individual support plans to ensure consistent approaches to behaviour guidance.
* Assist with developing funding cases.
* Develop resources to promote inclusion of all children.
The Successful Candidate
* Ideally you have previous experience working in before and after school care or education, but this is by no means essential – we can train you.
* You thrive in a fast‐paced environment and are still a big kid at heart.
* You are a confident communicator with children, parents, team members and school principals.
* You're a strong team player with excellent problem‐solving skills and a can‐do, positive attitude.
* You are passionate about creating enriching experiences for primary‐aged children.
* Energetic, enthusiastic and love to have fun.
* You hold or are working towards a Diploma qualification equivalent to ACECQA standards.
* All successful candidates are required to complete mandatory National Child Safety Training through Geccko prior to commencing employment.
