About the role
Join HammondCare as a Home Care Worker and provide essential, practical care for older people, supporting them to live independently in their own homes and genuinely improving their quality of life. Availability: 3‐5 full days between Monday to Friday from 7am onward. Location: Central Newcastle Region including Newcastle, Mayfield, Mereweather, Lambton and Waratah.
The role requires travel to clients' homes using your own car (you'll be paid $0.99 per km plus paid travel time).
Responsibilities
* Providing personal care – helping with showering and dressing
* Helping around the home – meal preparation and light house cleaning
* Providing transportation to appointments and assisting with shopping
* Assisting with medication
Qualifications
* Previous experience in aged or community care, or an interest in starting a career in aged care
* Valid Driver's Licence and access to an insured, reliable car (minimum third‐party property insurance)
* Ideal: Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support (non‐qualified applicants can be trained)
* Flexible around meeting the changing needs of home care clients
