Overview:
Our client, a growing company based in the Charlotte, NC metro area, is seeking an experienced
Interim CFO
to provide both strategic leadership and hands-on financial execution during a period of transition and growth. This hybrid role requires a dynamic executive who is comfortable building forward-looking strategies while also rolling up their sleeves to dive deep into financial models and operational details.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in Excel, experienced in building and reviewing complex financial models, and capable of working closely with the executive team, investors, and department leaders to drive insights and accountability across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, while managing all aspects of the finance function
Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range modeling
Build, review, and refine detailed financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making
Assess and improve current financial reporting and internal controls
Partner with department leaders to improve operational efficiency and financial visibility
Prepare investor and board-level reporting packages and presentations
Support capital planning, M&A diligence, and potential fundraising efforts
Provide guidance and mentorship to the finance and accounting team
Ensure compliance with GAAP and support audit readiness
Requirements:
Prior experience as a CFO or senior finance executive, preferably in high-growth or middle-market environments
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills are
required
Proven ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial operations
Experience supporting PE-backed or founder-led businesses is a plus
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Must be local to the Charlotte, NC metro area and available to be on-site 3 days per week
