Claims Specialist – Property (Full-time)
The Company
SLE is a specialist underwriting agency underwriting on behalf of Australian Licensed Insurers and Lloyd's Syndicates, specialising in the area of sports, leisure and entertainment. We Insure the worlds fun!
A company whose underwriting, claims and risk management teams have years of experience underwriting these specialist risks in the Australian market.
Role purpose
The Claims Specialist is responsible to the Company and Carriers in regard to all aspects of property claims management. At all times the claims department must operate within internal authorities and the binder reporting guidelines.
The Claims Specialist manages property claims end to end, advises on technical developments and monitors the performance of service providers, and where necessary passes this information to underwriters and stakeholders.

Reports to
Head of Claims, SLE Holdings
Principal Accountabilities
* 5. Manage Commercial property claims end to end within Delegated Authority.
* 6. To operate at all times within the guidelines set out in the Claims Manual and reporting guidelines set out in the binder.
* 7. Ensure compliance with the General Insurance Code of Practice, Privacy Act, Insurance Contracts Act and with the requirements of our AFSL.
* 8. Authorise (and refer for authorisation by carriers where appropriate) declinatures of indemnity or large losses.
* 1. Monitor technical developments.
* 2. Present to Brokers/Insureds/Carriers on claims developments and changing claims landscape.
* 3. Monitor claims trends and advise underwriting staff.
* 4. Monitor and manage performance of service providers.
* 1. Review and recommend changes to policy wordings to eliminate ambiguities.
* 2. Asist other parts of the business where required.
Key attributes & competencies
* Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial and/or Industrial Special Risks (ISR) property insurance claims.
* Working knowledge of all facets of insurance.
* Sound management of property claims, adjusters and recoveries.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Able to be market facing.
