An outstanding, long-term opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Farmhand to join Strathmore, a successful 6,000-hectare, family-owned, mixed-farming enterprise located near Dandaragan, WA. The role of Senior Farm Hand offers a generous package and a clear path for career progression toward an Assistant Manager position for the right applicant.
The Employer:
Strathmore is a well-established and successful agricultural enterprise operating a substantial 6,000-hectare mixed-farming enterprise near Dandaragan, Western Australia. The operation is highly diverse, committed to high standards in both cropping and livestock production.
The cropping program spans 2,000 hectares and successfully harvests high yields of Canola, Wheat, Barley, Lupins, and Hay. Concurrently, the robust livestock enterprise includes 14,000 Merino and XB ewes, manages a White Suffolk Stud of 1,100 ewes, and 500 Angus cows, with the majority of first-cross lambs finished on farm on fodder crops. Strathmore boasts a modern shearing shed and sheep yards, utilising a Clipex Sheephandler and Trutest technology. Previous experience with Agriwebb would be advantageous.
This Senior Farm Hand position is a key, hands-on role that requires a minimum of five years of experience in broadacre agriculture. The successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of essential farm duties, with a strong focus on cropping operations, encompassing seeding, spreading, spraying, and harvesting, utilising up-to-date John Deere and CASE equipment. The role also requires proficiency in general farm maintenance, welding, truck driving, and earthworks. The employer is seeking a reliable, trustworthy, and tidy individual for a long-term tenure.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and proficient within the cropping sector and have an overall passion for agriculture, and possess the following:
- Must have a strong work ethic and the capability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- An MC licence preferred, HR minimum
- Competent operation of various farm machinery/equipment
- A current Chemical Certificate, or a willingness to obtain
- An understanding and use of Agriwebb, but not essential
- A moderate level of mechanical and welding skills, minimum
