Key Role in Department's Legal Team
The role of a Senior Legal Officer is crucial in providing strategic legal advice to drive decision-making and risk management within the Department.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert risk-based legal advice on administrative law, statutory interpretation, and litigation matters with a focus on primary industries law.
* Draft and review key legal documents including Cabinet submissions, drafting instructions for Parliamentary Counsel, Bills, Regulations, Compliance, and litigation-related orders, directions, and notices.
* Permits, orders, directions, and notices made under primary industries legislation.
