Overview
Shape a national brand. Amplify a powerful mission. Drive sustainable growth.
The Hands on Learning (HoL) Program is entering an exciting new chapter and we're looking for a strategic, creative and purpose‐driven team player to help shape it. As our Brand, Communications, and Business Development Manager, you will be the driving force behind HoL's public voice, national reputation and growth trajectory.
* This is a rare opportunity to define and elevate the identity of a proven, evidence‐based program that changes the lives of young people across Australia.
* Your work will inspire belief, spark action and attract the investment to scale our mission — a chance to make a profound, lasting impact.
* You will have a track record in brand strategy, communications and building relationships with diverse stakeholders, and a collaborative, proactive and purpose‐driven mindset.
As part of the HoL team your skills will be valued — and your work will matter. You\'ll help shape the next chapter of a nationally recognised program that supports young people to thrive, stay engaged in learning and build brighter futures.
HoL sits within 54 reasons, Australia\'s leading child rights organisation proudly part of the Save the Children Australia group. This connection anchors our work in a shared commitment to improving the lives of children and young people through connection, belonging, and meaningful participation in education and their communities.
A place to make a difference
In this part time (0.8) max term (2-year contract) role you\'ll work as part of our central support team and be based ideally in Sydney or Brisbane, though other locations will be considered, and will work predominantly from home when not attending events, meetings and visiting schools.
You will make a difference by
* Leading the development of a national brand and positioning strategy that elevates HoL\'s profile and amplifies our purpose.
* Developing and executing a strategic communications plan that powerfully tells HoL\'s story and showcases our impact.
* Identifying and developing new initiatives and partnerships that support expansion in emerging and established markets.
* Supporting the development of pitches, proposals and funding submissions that secure investment and unlock new opportunities.
* Championing a data‐informed approach to storytelling, brand building and communication strategy.
A place to feel valued
You are a strategic thinker, a compelling storyteller and a confident relationship‐builder. You thrive at the intersection of brand, communications and growth, and you\'re motivated by work that creates real social impact.
This role requires

* Strong writing, messaging and content creation skills
* A track record of building relationships with diverse stakeholders
* The ability to translate evidence and impact into compelling narratives
* A collaborative, proactive and purpose‐driven mindset
You\'re also someone who brings great energy to the workplace; you enjoy a laugh, care deeply about student wellbeing and engagement, and thrive in a purpose‐driven environment. Most importantly, you\'re excited by our vision for national growth and want to work in a dynamic and collaborative way to shape the future of HoL.
A place to belong
At 54 reasons, we invest in the development and wellbeing of our people. Our workforce is approximately 600 people strong, and proudly diverse, whether in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality, cultures and beliefs. We offer a range of rewards for your effort, including:
