We provide a culturally safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to access services, guided by our values ofCaring, Community, Communication and Consistency .We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedGeneral Practitioner, Primary Care Servicesto provide comprehensive, culturally safe, and preventative medical care within a vibrant primary health care setting. In this leadership role, you will work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and organisational programs to support integrated, client-centred care that makes a real difference.Job Description About the RoleProviding comprehensive, culturally safe, and preventative medical care within a primary health care settingWorking collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and across organisational programs to support integrated client careSupporting health promotion, early intervention, and chronic disease management initiativesEducating and supporting clients to empower self-management of ongoing health conditionsContributing to clinical governance, practice standards, and continuous quality improvement activitiesLiaising with allied health professionals, visiting specialists, and external agencies to ensure coordinated care and appropriate models of practiceUsing clinical and information systems to support decision-making, evaluate outcomes, and improve service deliveryParticipating in effective communication and education initiatives within the PCS programAbout YouRegistered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) Medical Board of Australia with FRACGP or equivalent qualification.Hold membership of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or appropriate professional body.Hold a current Health Insurance Commission unrestricted provider number, relevant eHealth registrations and professional indemnity insurance.Demonstrated understanding of the contemporary issues facing Aboriginal people and the impacts these issues have on Indigenous Australian societies and cultures; andDemonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal people.Demonstrated understanding of all relevant guidelines for Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Dependence.Demonstrated ability to deliver a high level of professional judgement and clinical competence in a multi-disciplinary setting and a sound understanding of all aspects of clinical governance.Sound knowledge of relevant Medicare schedules, billing processes and compliance management within MBS Guidelines.Excellent organisational and time management skills, the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, work under pressure in a complex busy workplace to assess priorities and meet deadlines and respond to difficult and/or stressful situations in a calm, sensitive and professional manner.Proven ability to contribute effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.Significant experience in the use of Communicare or other electronic client health information management system to document client care (e.g. Medical Director or Best Practice).Proven well-developed written and verbal communication skills and high-level ability to communicate effectively with a range of health professionals and administrative staff.Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict, solve problems and negotiate successful outcomes.Desired Skills and ExperiencePrevious experience working on community primary health care projects or programs that demonstrate best practice outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.At Nunkuwarrin Yunti, you'll be part of a purpose-driven organisation committed to Caring, Community, Communication and Consistency in everything we do.We offer:A culturally safe, values-led workplaceChild Safe Organisation commitment2 weeks gifted annual leave over ChristmasSalary packaging options to increase your take-home payFlexible working arrangementsOngoing professional growth and development opportunitiesAn inclusive and equal opportunity workplaceCurrent National Police Check and Working with Children Check are required.2x Positions available, job sharing covering 1.2FTE, actual hours to be negotiated.
