Belong at Home is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and solutions focused person to join our team for a fixed term, 6-month contract with the possibility of a permanent placement at the end of the term. This part time role will require a minimum of 70 hours a fortnight.
Belong at Home is a highly respected not-for-profit local organisation providing a range of services to aged people and their carers throughout the "south west" with branches in Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River, Collie, Donnybrook and Bridgetown.
The role of Accountant is to support the Finance Manager and finance department in the preparation and submission of the organisations deliverables, including:
* Reconciliation and review of month and year end general ledger accounts, and preparation of adjusting journals.
* Reconciliation and calculation of monthly income and transactions for Support at Home Packages and balances.
* Review and support fortnightly payroll processing.
* Ongoing improvements & development for enhancements of system interactions of Power BI, CRM and payroll for continuous improvement and streamlined process to optimise business outcomes.
* Working with other members of the accounts team to investigate and resolve issues and queries.
* Working with other departments to facilitate the timely and correct exiting of clients.
* Preparation of quarterly BAS and assistance with preparation of FBT return.
* Working with the other members of the accounts team and Finance Manager to prepare for and gather requested documentation during the audit.
* Preparation of monthly management reports including profit & loss, balance sheet, variance analysis and commentary.
* Assist in preparation of quarterly Aged Care Financial reporting.
Skills & Experience
* You will have excellent communication skills, an empathetic attitude and an understanding of older people and be solution focused.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
* Ability to follow and propose improvements to processes and procedures.
* A high attention to detail.
* Strong 'people' skills and dedicated team player.
* Proficient in financial modelling, planning and analysis. Ideally within health, aged care or not for profit sectors.
* Passionate about the community with a positive attitude.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* A police clearance certificate is essential with annual flu vaccination.
Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum.
