Library Officer
Location: Joondalup
Role Summary
As a Library Officer, you will supervise day‐to‐day library operations, oversee reference and information services, support staff in resource selection, promote reading, and maintain library systems and collections.
Responsibilities
* Supervise the day‐to‐day operations of the library.
* Oversee the provision of reference, information, and associated services to teaching staff and students.
* Support staff in selecting resources to ensure the library's collection meets curriculum and recreational reading needs.
* Promote reading and engagement with literature across the school community.
* Administer library systems to keep records accurate and up‐to‐date.
* Ensure library resources are processed, maintained, and readily accessible to students, staff, and parents at all times.
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Use a range of computer software packages and library management systems confidently.
* Take a proactive, organised approach to supporting students and staff in a busy, dynamic school environment.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
* Demonstrated ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
* Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
Eligibility
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
* Must obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting.
