Database professionals with expertise in Postgres and SQL are in high demand to support managed services for federal clients.
This role requires hands-on experience in monitoring, backups, performance tuning, patching, incident resolution, and capacity planning across on-prem and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitoring and maintaining the health of Postgres and SQL databases
* Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies
* Troubleshooting and resolving incidents related to database performance
* Collaborating with IT teams to plan and implement capacity upgrades
Requirements
* At least 3 years of experience in Postgres and SQL Server administration
* Strong skills in performance tuning, HA, backup, and recovery
* Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure
* Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM principles and practices
* Bonus points for knowledge of Oracle or DB2
About the Role
This is a contract position that may lead to extensions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
Australian citizenship and an active NV1 clearance are mandatory requirements for this role. On-call and shift work, including extended hours, are also required.
