The Bureau of Meteorology is advancing its Community Engagement, Customer, and Data Solutions capabilities to strengthen public safety and risk management initiatives across Australia. The team comprises Weather and Climate Services, Real-time Data Services, and the National Weather Graphics Unit, collaboratively providing real-time and historical climate data to support customers in making well-informed decisions.
Responsibilities
The Customer Business Officer plays a key role in supporting the business management of C&DS customers. The role provides end to end coordination of customer finance, cost recovery, invoicing, and subscriptions, while also supporting customer care activities and product delivery channels. The position ensures compliance with cost recovery and financial frameworks, maintains data integrity within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, and contributes to continuous improvement in customer service and satisfaction.
In addition to the business management of C&DS customers you will be required to support the wider C&DS customer service team to help customers understand available data products and services, resolve issues, and support product channel delivery. Delivery channels include anonymous FTP, Registered User FTP, GIS2Web, and the soon to be established Amazon Marketplace.
The role plays a critical function in ensuring compliant application of cost recovery arrangements, effective customer account management, and high standards of customer care, while supporting continuous improvement in systems, processes and service delivery.
