Role Overview
We're seeking a driven Business Development Manager to grow Cromarty's Automation Group. You'll identify new opportunities, build lasting client relationships, and work alongside our talented team to deliver cutting-edge automation and OT solutions, driving the strong, sustainable growth that's at the heart of our vision.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify & Develop Opportunities – Proactively seek out new business across target industries, including manufacturing, mining, O&G and utilities.
* Build Client Relationships – Establish and maintain strong, long-term partnerships based on trust, technical expertise, and value creation.
* Collaborate with Technical Teams – Work closely with our technical team to shape solutions that meet client needs and deliver measurable results.
* Drive the Sales Process – Lead opportunity qualification, proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations through to close.
* Market Engagement – Represent Cromarty Automation at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to raise awareness of our capabilities.
* Strategic Growth Input – Provide market insights, competitor analysis, and client feedback to inform our Automation Group growth strategy.
* Achieve Performance Targets – Meet or exceed agreed sales, revenue, and pipeline goals in line with Cromarty Automation's sustainable growth objectives.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven success in business development, sales, or account management within automation, OT, industrial controls, or related engineering sectors.
* Strong understanding of automation technologies, including PLC/SCADA systems, MES, industrial networking, instrumentation, and robotics.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level client relationships across diverse industries.
* Skilled in leading the sales process from opportunity identification to contract execution.
* Commercial acumen with the ability to create compelling value propositions and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
* Willingness to travel as required.
