Assistant Liability Underwriter
As an Assistant Liability Underwriter at Miramar Underwriting Agency, you will support experienced underwriters while developing your own technical capability.
Responsibilities
* Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements within authority levels.
* Prepare and issue premium quotations in line with company guidelines.
* Deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate policy records and documentation.
* Support the underwriting team with operational and administrative tasks.
* Assist in managing renewals, submissions and deadlines.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
* Build and maintain broker relationships.
* Develop underwriting processes and tools to improve efficiency and consistency.
* Build technical capability, broker relationships and market insights.
* Lead smaller initiatives, analysis tasks and continuous improvements.
* Prepare reports, recommendations and supporting documentation for decision-making.
Qualifications
* Experience in insurance or financial services.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Confident communication and relationship‐building ability.
* Analytical mindset, ideally with an accounting background.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Motivation to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
