PureCDM is seeking an experienced Principal Clinical Data Manager to lead complex clinical studies and programs, support high-quality data management delivery, and help develop the next generation of Data Management Leads.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Clinical Data Management professional who enjoys combining technical expertise, project leadership, client engagement, mentoring and people development.

You will play a key role in ensuring clinical data management activities are delivered to a high standard across timelines, scope, budget and quality expectations.

About the Role

As Principal Clinical Data Manager, you will act as the operational lead for end-to-end data management delivery across complex clinical trials and programs.

You will oversee study start-up, conduct, database lock and close-out, provide senior oversight of data management activities, manage risks and escalations, support client and stakeholder relationships, and contribute to business development and commercial activities.

A key part of this role is also developing others. You will provide line management, mentorship and coaching to junior Data Management Leads, supporting their technical and operational growth and preparing them for progression into project leadership roles.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead end-to-end CDM delivery across complex clinical studies and programs.

Oversee study start-up, conduct, database lock and close-out, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, scope, budget and quality expectations.

Provide senior oversight of CDM deliverables to ensure they are complete, consistent, compliant and high quality.

Identify and proactively manage data-related project and program risks, mitigation plans, scope changes and escalation points.

Make and guide key operational decisions relating to data collection strategy, system design and process improvement.

Collaborate with sponsors, CROs, vendors, external data providers and internal biometrics teams to support seamless delivery.

Partner with Biostatistics and Programming teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project outputs.

Provide line management, mentoring and coaching to junior Data Management Leads.

Contribute to training initiatives, process improvement, quality standards and operational efficiency.

About You

You are an experienced Clinical Data Management professional with strong technical capability, advanced project leadership skills and a genuine interest in developing others.

You are confident leading complex studies, managing competing priorities, working with clients and stakeholders, and making sound operational decisions in a dynamic clinical research environment.

You will bring:

8+ years' Clinical Data Management experience in a CRO or equivalent clinical research setting.

Significant experience leading global, complex clinical trials or programs.

Advanced project and program management capability.

Expert knowledge of clinical trial processes, EDC systems and end-to-end clinical data flow.

Strong understanding of GCP, regulatory requirements, ICH guidelines and CDISC standards.

Proven line management, mentoring, coaching or team development experience.

Strong ability to develop others and build capability in emerging CDM leaders.

Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.

High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, compliance and delivery excellence.

Ability to lead through complexity, change and growth.

Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent, preferably in Life Sciences or a health‐related field, or relevant experience that complements the requirements of the role.

8+ years' Clinical Data Management experience in a CRO or equivalent setting.

Significant experience leading global, complex clinical trials.

Proven line management and team development experience.

Must be an Australian permanent resident or citizen.
