Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer in Neurosurgery to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Neurosurgery, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Neurosurgery Department and Hospital as required.
Key requirements:
* Postgraduate Fellowship in complex adult spinal surgery.
* Proficiency in management of complex spinal pathology including degenerative disease, trauma, deformity, infection, and neoplastic conditions.
* Oncology experience including sarcoma management, multidisciplinary tumour care and complex oncological resections such as sacrectomy.
* Proficiency in minimally invasive, advanced reconstructive and deformity correction techniques with experience across anterior, lateral and posterior spinal approaches.
* Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with recognised qualifications in Neurosurgery and/or other equivalent specialist recognition, and postgraduate Fellowship training in complex adult spinal surgery. Applicants currently enrolled in a Post Graduate Fellowship may be considered.
* Applicants expected to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application may also be considered.
Position is currently available. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
