Salary : $149,631. Package includes salary ($120,859 - $133,183), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join the Regional Rural and Remote Education Policy unit (the Unit) as a Senior Project Officer.
About the Regional Rural and Remote Education Policy Unit (the Unit) The purpose of the Unit is to ensure equitable educational outcomes for all learners, regardless of their postcode. The Unit works with communities to enhance educational opportunities and safeguard learning continuity through taking a cross directorate, whole of government and systems wide view of education, supporting collaboration and advocating on policy issues that affect regional, rural and remote communities. The Unit aims to improve the relevance and availability of supports for these communities, from early childhood to schools right through to post school options.

The role The role manages the development, management and delivery of innovative projects and solutions, including understanding stakeholder problems and issues and designing evidence-based solutions which contribute to improved educational outcomes for the students in regional, rural and remote NSW.
The role will also contribute to maintaining the project management approach for the Unit, supporting appropriate governance and program arrangements to minimize risk to the achievement of Department outcomes and objectives.
The role will support the team to develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate projects, to achieve defined outcomes, and support achievement of the Rural and Remote Education Strategy.

About you We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven team player who has a broad understanding of the diverse perspectives of people living in RRR communities and who is committed to assisting the Unit in driving change by identifying, designing and delivering opportunities to support improved outcomes for regional, rural and remote learners.
You will have :
the ability to provide advice and liaise with stakeholders across the organisation to identify and develop an in-depth understanding of recurrent problems and priorities to inform the development and delivery of innovative solutions.
the capability to manage the development and implementation of a range of activities including project design, policy review and research.
experience in coordinating and undertake the gathering, collation and the triangulation of data and information from multiple sources.
experience in preparing high quality written advice in the form of reports, briefs, discussion papers or other circulars to inform the Unit’s key priorities and seek Executive approval.
the ability to engage in cross Department collaboration to drive the delivery of key priorities in the Rural and Remote Education Strategy.
the capability of working across several projects simultaneously, ensuring activities are well coordinated and delivered on time.

Demonstrated experience to plan, implement, develop and review program content.
