Overview
Jacobs is looking for a Senior Engineer Power Systems Consultant to join our specialist Transmission and Distribution Studies team.
Responsibilities
* Apply power system fundamentals to practical challenges (operations, protection interactions, compliance).
* Support and progressively lead steady state and dynamic modelling and analysis.
* Produce clear, high quality outputs across calculations, models, reports, and presentations.
* Deliver and support engineering studies in earthing and EMT (safety‑critical outcomes).
* Collaborate with senior engineers and specialists to learn best‑practice methods and build technical ownership.
* Utilise AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
* Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent engineering discipline).
* Understanding of electrical engineering principles, basic physics and control system fundamentals.
* Strong fundamentals in circuit theory and electromagnetism applied to power system earthing, system operation, protection considerations and safety.
* Willingness to learn and grow, including taking on new technical and client‑facing responsibilities.
* Adaptability to work across varied tasks from advanced power system modelling and analysis to earthing and EMT studies.
* Exposure or willingness to utilise software packages such as CDEGS, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSS®E and ETAP.
