Overview
RSL Queensland is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation delivering innovative programs and initiatives that support veterans and their families. The Wellbeing Practitioner focuses on building therapeutic relationships with veterans and their families by partnering them with local agencies, health practitioners, Government departments, and other ex-service organisations. Our multi-disciplined Wellbeing team actively supports the local community by promoting our services and building important relationships with community members.
Responsibilities
* Work with veterans and their families within our homelessness and financial hardship programs.
* Assess clients and prepare case management plans that support an outcomes-based approach to veteran wellbeing.
* Conduct home and hospital visits to veterans to ensure they receive emotional support, counselling or other assistance as required.
Qualifications
* Completed degree qualification in Humanities/Arts (Social Welfare), Health Sciences, Social Science or similar, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a relevant position.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in strength-based case management.
* Aptitude for and interest in completing your ATDP or MILADW001 in Welfare.
* Demonstrated proficiency in planning and managing client workloads across highly sensitive environments and situations.
* Superior communication and interpersonal skills to rapidly build rapport and trust.
