A family office based in New South Wales is looking for an experienced and driven Manager of Finance and Operations to lead their financial and operational functions. This position requires a strategic mindset, solid financial expertise, and effective management skills to ensure the smooth running of the family's Australian operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background and extensive experience in business services. This role reports directly to the family's Family Office located in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the Australian operations
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs
- Coordinate closely with the US Family Office to provide integrated management of the family's affairs
- Clearly communicate financial data and updates to family members
- Support the daily administration of the family's personal matters
- Serve as the primary contact for family members on all financial and operational issues
Requirements:
- Must have Family Office experience
- Degree in Business, Commerce, or Accounting
- Completed CA or CPA certification
- At least 5 years of experience in finance, operations, or a related field, preferably in a family office or wealth management environment
- Strong expertise in month-end accounting
- Experience with GST, FBT, and payroll tax return preparation
- Background in agriculture or real estate operations is advantageous
- Proficiency with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Xero
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and tax compliance, including financial statements, tax reconciliations, income tax returns, and tax effect accounting for companies, trusts, and consolidated groups
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion
