About the role
We are looking for reliable, caring and compassionate Domestic Services Assistants (DSA) to bring joy to our residents' day.
Responsibilities
* Carry out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home‐like environment
* Clean residents' rooms including ensuites, furniture and equipment, and communal and administrative areas
* Ensure common living areas, hallways and all other areas of the facility (including front entrance courtyards, verandas) are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition
* Ensure the safe storage, security and labelling of cleaning materials in line with the MSDS, while being aware of the environmental requirements of cleaning products and their disposal
* Replenish cleaning liquids and materials while observing safety procedures
* Report stock shortages, breakages, building, equipment or furnishing defects promptly to the Residential Services Manager
* Standard shift runs from 0700 to 1400; flexible in start and finish times as needed
About you
Interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees and volunteers; patience; common sense; and an understanding of client service.
* Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervision
* Well‐developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to operate with discretion and maintain complete confidentiality
* Commitment to work as part of a team
* Experience in an aged care or hospital setting is essential
