Senior Project Engineer - Civil
We are currently partnering with a leading civil contractor to appoint a Senior Project Engineer to join their growing delivery team on the Sunshine Coast. This is a key site-based role supporting the successful delivery of major civil infrastructure projects across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to step into a high-impact role with strong autonomy, career progression, and exposure to complex, multi-disciplinary civil works.
The Opportunity
You will play a critical role in the delivery of civil infrastructure projects from planning through to completion, working closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, and client representatives to ensure safe, on-time, and high-quality outcomes.
Projects will typically include bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities, and general civil construction works across a major program of works.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day engineering functions across live civil construction projects
* Coordinate design, construction methodology, and temporary works support
* Manage QA systems, ITPs, subcontractor compliance, and project documentation
* Support planning, programming, and cost tracking activities
* Assist with procurement, subcontractor coordination, and material scheduling
* Drive HSE compliance across all site activities
* Liaise with internal teams, consultants, and client stakeholders
* Provide technical guidance to site engineers and junior staffContribute to project reporting, forecasting, and risk management
About You
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
* 5+ years’ experience in civil infrastructure or construction delivery
* Strong understanding of site-based engineering and project execution
* Experience across roads, earthworks, drainage or utilities highly regarded
* Confident managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment
