About the Role We're seeking an experienced IT Systems Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of a high-performing infrastructure team while remaining hands-on across on-premises and cloud-based environments. This role combines leadership, BAU, and technical expertise, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of core business systems. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of Systems Engineers and Administrators, driving technical excellence and collaboration. Oversee and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring system availability and performance. Manage and optimise Hyper-V virtualisation platforms, including provisioning, patching, and troubleshooting. Design, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including IaaS, networking, and identity management. Ensure robust backup, disaster recovery, and security practices are in place. Contribute to IT strategy, roadmaps, and infrastructure improvement initiatives. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to deliver infrastructure projects and resolve escalated incidents. Key Skills & Experience Proven experience in a Systems Engineering or Team Lead position. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Hyper-V, and Windows Server (2016-2022). Working knowledge of Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat). Understanding of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Familiarity with backup technologies, monitoring tools, and ITIL-based support environments. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Desirable Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell). Exposure to Microsoft 365 / Intune management. Relevant certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, MCSE, or similar).
