The General Manager – Housing and Land Servicing leads the strategic planning, design, procurement, and delivery of public housing and land servicing projects across the Northern Territory. This is a rare opportunity to oversee a multi-billion-dollar capital investment program that directly impacts housing outcomes in remote and Aboriginal communities.

The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure works with the community, business and government partners to regulate, construct, maintain and invest in integrated sustainable infrastructure, developments and services across the Territory.
About the Role
As General Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of housing and land servicing projects, including land subdivision, infrastructure upgrades, and tenure services. You’ll manage a portfolio of over 100 contracts and lead a high-performing team to deliver outcomes aligned with the NT Government’s 10-year partnership agreement to reduce overcrowding and increase housing supply.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead strategic planning and delivery of housing and land servicing programs.
* Oversee capital investment (~$4 billion over 10 years) and operational budgets (~$20 million annually).
* Manage stakeholder engagement with land councils, government agencies, and communities.
* Ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and governance frameworks.
* Incorporate cultural and community input into project planning and delivery.
* Lead negotiations and secure approvals for land tenure and infrastructure projects.
* Represent the department in high-level forums and prepare reports for senior leadership.
* Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
About you
* Extensive experience in land development, tenure, or infrastructure delivery in remote or culturally sensitive environments.
* Proven ability to manage large-scale programs and complex stakeholder relationships.
* Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
* Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks related to land and housing development.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Desirable - Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
