About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Arborist / Tree Worker to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking operational arboricultural activities across the council’s diverse public tree population and contributing to creating a liveable community.
To be considered for this role you will need a completed AQF Level 3 (Certificate III) in horticulture or arboriculture, or have demonstrated significant recent industry experience, together with a current MR Class Driver’s Licence.
We are looking for someone who has recent experience delivering a variety of Arboriculture/Horticulture practices, including tree pruning and removal techniques.
You will display highly developed communication skills and a proactive, positive, and skilled attitude.
A working knowledge of employee obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Safe Work NSW Code of Practice – Amenity Tree Industry Standards is also essential.
A current National Licence to Perform High Risk Work (WP + Boom type elevated work platform) is desirable but not essential.
On an atypical day the role will:
- Work with the Vegetation Operations team to deliver tree services.
- Carry out tree removals across the LGA.
- Ensure the planting schedule is delivered.
- Apply all essential WHS to ensure safe working conditions.
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment Type: Full Time, 38 hours per week
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $66,577 per year with opportunity for competency‑based progression and an adverse working conditions allowance level 1.
