Overview
Engineering Manager - Marine role to provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from tender development through to construction delivery. This is a hands-on, engineering-led position where your judgement, experience, and marine expertise directly influence how projects are designed and built. You'll play a critical role in translating marine design intent into practical, safe, and efficient construction solutions working closely with delivery teams, designers, and stakeholders to ensure technical risks are actively managed and opportunities are captured. Based in our modern Richmond office, you'll work in a purpose-designed environment that supports collaboration, focus, and wellbeing, with excellent public transport connectivity and limited undercover parking available by arrangement.
Responsibilities
* Providing engineering leadership across marine and coastal infrastructure projects
* Managing and coordinating design consultants, specialist subcontractors, and technical advisors
* Driving technical risk identification and mitigation through design and construction
* Ensuring marine structures are safe, constructible, and optimised for delivery
* Influencing tender strategy, construction methodology, and engineering solutions
* Bridging design and construction to achieve certainty in cost, program, and risk
* Supporting project teams with robust engineering governance and decision-making
Qualifications
* Strong constructor-side engineering experience with a focus on buildability
* Demonstrated success in D&C environments managing complex design interfaces
* Proven marine engineering expertise, particularly in:
o Ports and harbours
o Jetties, wharves, and overwater structures
o Coastal and nearshore marine construction
* Ability to lead technical discussions, challenge assumptions, and influence outcomes
* High-level stakeholder and consultant management capability
* Tertiary qualification in engineering with 10+ years' experience on major infrastructure projects
