We're looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Henderson team, supporting tenders across fabrication, materials handling, structural steel, piping and industrial projects. This is a hands‐on role where your work directly impacts project wins and delivery outcomes.
You'll be responsible for preparing accurate, commercially sound estimates and tender submissions, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure competitive and realistic pricing. You're a practical, detail‐driven estimator who understands fabrication environments and can balance accuracy with deadlines.
Responsibilities
* Reviewing RFQs, drawings, specifications and scopes
* Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
* Completing quantity take‐offs and cost build‐ups (labour, materials, subcontractors)
* Analysing and comparing subcontractor pricing
* Identifying risks, opportunities, assumptions and exclusions
* Preparing budgets, cost plans and supporting documentation
* Supporting variation pricing and contract reviews
* Coordinating with internal teams for technical and commercial input
* Maintaining estimating records, registers and cost data
* Contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes
Qualifications
* 5+ years' experience in estimating (SMP / fabrication / industrial projects)
* Trade or tertiary qualification in a relevant field
* Strong experience with estimating software and Excel
* Ability to build detailed cost models and manage budgets
* Solid understanding of drawings, specifications and scopes
* Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
* Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and tight deadlines
* High attention to detail with a commercial mindset
