Role & Responsibilities
* Strategic Engineering: Plan, lead, and drive software construction and systems design activities for large, complex, and strategic enterprise development projects.
* Technology Roadmapping: Monitor the external environment for emerging technologies, assess organisational impacts, and create future-focused technology roadmaps.
* Capability & Governance: Develop and implement organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for systems integration, software refactoring, and tool adoption.
* Release & Integration Management: Lead systems integration, automation, and continuous integration (CI/CD) capabilities while ensuring robust post-release reviews and rollback safety.
* Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops and proactively transfer specialist technical skills and knowledge to departmental staff.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
* Technical Toolkit: Advanced capabilities in systems design life cycle models, configuration management tools, systems integration, CI/CD automation pipelines, and emerging technology evaluation.
* Experience: Proven track record leading software construction for strategic-level, complex programmes within large enterprise or government environments.
* Core Capabilities: Expert ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
