Job Overview
This position is a Clinical Midwife role with South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS). The appointment is either permanent or fixed‐term, with variable hours per fortnight and the possibility of extension or permanency.
Responsibilities
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Midwife provides clinical and professional expertise to deliver comprehensive evidence‐based midwifery and nursing care. The midwife facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care, and ensures practice aligns with the Nursing and Midwifery Board's Midwifery Practice Decision Flowchart.
Qualifications & Eligibility
* Valid working visa for fixed‐term appointments, or Australian citizen, permanent resident, or visa that allows indefinite residence and work for permanent appointments.
* Current registration with the relevant midwifery or nursing board.
Regulatory & Screening Requirements
Applicants must undergo criminal record screening and integrity checks as part of the appointment process. A Working with Children (WWC) check is also required. Candidates may additionally be required to complete a pre‐employment health assessment.
