Offer description

* Manage the day to day operations of an internal team and its resources plus liaison and coordination of support actions with multiple service providers and stakeholders.
* Has responsibility for the operation of DPFEM's critical information and communication systems such as triple zero telephony system, computer-aided dispatch, messaging platforms, and radio/paging networks.
* This position requires familiarity with the management of, and decommissioning of equipment and infrastructure related to radio and paging networks.

Hours per fortnight


Full-time, 73.5 hours per fortnight


Duties


Lead the day-to-day support and operation of technology-based critical information and communication systems whilst providing guidance to deliver the required performance outcomes consistent with established industry standards, contractual obligations, and stakeholder expectations. These critical systems underpin the work of Police, Fire, Emergency Services partners and utility organisations, facilitating essential frontline services for the Tasmanian community.

The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:

* Arson and fire setting;
* Sexual offences;
* Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
* Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
* Making false declarations;
* Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
* Malicious damage and destruction to property
* Trafficking of narcotic substance;
* False alarm raising.


Desirable Requirements

* High level knowledge and experience with the support and management of a wide range of information and communication systems that include IP based networks, paging and radio communications, telephony and messaging systems.
* Relevant qualifications and suitable experience in related roles.
* Knowledge or experience in the decommissioning of related radio communications infrastructure.
* Project management experience.
* A current Driver's licence.
