The Role
Collie SHS is seeking to create a pool of energetic and motivated Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers (AIEOs) to provide opportunities for all students to develop skills, common knowledge and resilience through high quality teaching.
The AIEO plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for Indigenous students. As a liaison between the school and community, the AIEO works closely with teachers, students, and families to develop culturally relevant education programs that empower Indigenous students to reach their full potential.
Through mentoring and pastoral care, the AIEO supports Indigenous students, particularly those at risk, encouraging participation and achievement in the classroom.
The AIEO also works closely with the local Indigenous community to facilitate their involvement in shaping school policies and programs.
Full details of the role, selection criteria and training requirements are listed in the attached Job Description Form (JDF).
