Regional Community Advocate Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Regional Community Advocate in Central Australia.
The ideal candidate will possess experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and have a strong understanding of legal, economic, and social issues affecting women in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing high-quality support and advocacy services to vulnerable women in regional and remote areas.
* Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver wraparound services and address complex issues.
* Representing clients in courts and tribunals, including as a duty lawyer.
* Delivering legal education and outreach events to promote awareness and empowerment among community members.
* Supporting and contributing to law reform, advocacy, and community engagement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Laws degree and eligibility for a Practising Certificate in the Northern Territory.
* Experience in civil or criminal law, particularly Domestic and Family Violence.
* Knowledge of general civil law matters and familiarity with the CLASS database.
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and cultural competency.
* Excellent communication, time management, and legal file management skills.
