Montessori Minds Childcare and Kindergarten (MONTESSORI MINDS PTY LTD) in North Geelong is seeking a full-time Room Leader with the right attitude and passion for working with children.
The ideal candidate should have 2–5 years of relevant experience and hold at least a Diploma qualification or equivalent in Early Childhood Education and Care, or have substantial experience in the field.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience as a Room leader in a childcare centre.
- Sound, practical working knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Current First Aid and Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates, Current Working with Children's Check.
- A passion for delivering quality inclusive childcare.
- Flexible and personal approach.
- Able to work in a team and lead a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Great time management and organisation skills.

Task & responsibilities
- Leading, managing, and motivating appointed room staff to achieve the objectives of the Centre and support staff in their development
- Develop the Children’s Program (reflecting Early Years Learning Framework guidelines). Write up the program, co-operating with the Children’s needs with staff input.
- Making lessons captivating and enjoyable for individuals and small groups of children
- Delivering consistent high-quality practice of the National Quality Framework
- Ensure that records are maintained accurately for each child in care
- Promote positive parent, centre and staff relationships.
- Maintain compliance with the OH&S; Policy, ensure a safe environment is maintained for children and staff.
- Play a central role in creating an engaging and enriching learning setting.
- Collaborate with families to understand each child's needs and interests.
Qualification & experience
- Minimum of Diploma or equivalent Early Childhood Education and Care
- Current Working With Children (WWC) Check.
- Current First Aid and Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in highly relevant role required.
- Competency in the above tasks and duties.
