What You Do
* Produced detailed engineering drawings for water supply and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, reservoirs, and reticulation networks.
* Develop and manage drawing sets across all project phases - concept, preliminary, detailed design, issued for construction (IFC), and as constructed.
* Act as a CAD / BIM lead or coordinator on projects, managing model integrity, file structures, and drawing production workflows.
* Develop and maintain project specific CAD templates, title blocks, layer standards, and drawing conventions.
* Coordinate drawing production across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure spatial and design consistency.
* Participate in design coordination meetings and resolve drawing conflicts, clashes, or discrepancies in collaboration with engineers.
* Conduct self checking and peer review of drawings prior to formal issue to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
* Maintain drawing quality in accordance with the organisation's QA / QC management system and project specific quality plans.
* Provide day-to-day guidance and technical mentoring to intermediate and graduate drafters within the team.
Who You Are
* Associate Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Drafting / Design Technology), or equivalent industry experience.
* Minimum 7 years of post qualification experience in civil engineering drafting, with demonstrated experience in water and / or wastewater infrastructure projects in Queensland.
* Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or 12d for civil and mechanical drafting.
* Strong understanding of civil drafting conventions, drawing standards, and document control requirements relevant to water infrastructure.
* Demonstrated experience preparing IFC drawing packages and managing drawing registers on infrastructure projects.
* Working knowledge of Queensland utility standards (e.g. SEQ Code, Seqwater, local government water businesses).
* Excellent attention to detail with strong spatial awareness and the ability to interpret engineering concepts and translate them into accurate drawings.
