The Role

Excellent career progression opportunities have become available for Registered Behaviour Support Practitioners to join our team based in Ipswich/Logan on a full‐time basis with flexible working arrangements. With excellent career development focus and a supportive team, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills as a practitioner in the Community Services industry.

You will be working alongside a small supportive professional team to provide behaviour support services to the relevant stakeholder and facilitate best outcome based on their individual needs and goals. You will be supporting a caseload of participants who reside in the Ipswich/Logan area.

Key Duties
* Conduct intake and comprehensive functional assessments, including direct observation and consultation with key stakeholders
* Develop PBSPs in accordance with legislative requirements for clients that are subject to restrictive practices, undertake required risk assessment and environmental changes
* Develop and communicate positive behaviour support strategies for clients, families and support workers to enable them to support clients with PBSPs appropriately
* Complete ongoing assessments regarding client's behaviours and make recommendations about appropriate strategies
* Provide services with timely advice on how to respond to people with challenging behaviour through the lens of positive behaviour support practices, advice on the least restrictive option, if a practice constitutes a restrictive practice, and how to proceed according to current legislative requirements
Skills and Experience
* Minimum Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Education or other relevant qualification
* Previous experience in Social work, Mental Health, or the community services would be highly valued
* Existing registration as a Core or Proficient Level Behaviour Support Practitioner
* Demonstrated capacity to analyse and interpret client records, plans and documentation and undertake functional assessments, develop positive behaviour support plans and provide findings and recommendations
* Demonstrated experience and capability to develop and sustain influential working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and managing and influencing through a contemporary evidence‐base
* Proven analytical, problem‐solving, written, report writing and evaluation knowledge and skills
* Proven ability to exercise sound judgement and decision‐making based on evidence
* Ability to obtain and maintain a current driver's licence, blue card, criminal history check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, evidence of right to work in Australia, and an Australian Federal Policy criminal history check
