A Pathway to Becoming a Train Driver

About the Role:
This position involves providing operational support to the Train Driver to ensure safe and efficient train operation in accordance with rail safety management procedures and systems, relevant track access provider, regulator, and siding owner rules and procedures.

Duties:
* Work with a commitment to safety and demonstrate values of integrity, reliability, and inclusion.
* Collaborate with a qualified driver to perform rail safety work in train operations.
* Participate in safety meetings, training, briefing sessions, and toolbox talks related to safe and efficient train operations.
* Work towards achieving required units of competency for the Certificate IV in Train Driving.

Requirements:
* Available to work across a 24/7 shift work roster.
* Hold a current driver's license and provide recent driver's license history.
* Work collaboratively and harmoniously as part of a team.
* Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach while also working effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Technical or trade background preferred but not essential.
* Be flexible and adaptable and able to work in a safety-critical environment.
* Communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately orally and in writing.
* Must be fit for work and meet the requirements of a rail category one medical with a good level of fitness and general health.
