We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Wandering Primary School (PS) offers excellent teaching and quality learning, good values and a strong pastoral care program. We are concerned with children's physical, intellectual, emotional, social, aesthetic and creative growth and the ability to apply this to day to day living. We regard all children in our care as individuals, encouraging them to develop to the fullest extent possible.

Wandering PS, located approximately 130 km south-east of Perth, is a small Level 3 Western Australian Government School offering high quality individualised and inclusive education from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school provides rich learning experiences for children in the town and outlying rural areas. Wandering PS runs Multi-Aged classrooms.

The Role

Join our team as a Special Needs Education Assistant and support the Department's objective of teaching and learning for students with special needs. You will assist in the implementation of specialised education programs such as occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy, helping to ensure that students receive the best possible education.

You will work closely with teachers to deliver planned education programs, including the use of computers and digital technologies, and will be responsible for implementing individual student or small group programs or demonstrations. Additionally, you will provide feedback on education and therapy programs and will participate in the evaluation process.

* Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists;
* Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
