About the Role
Canterbury Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare services to our local community, focused on patient and family-centred care.

The Operating Suite contains five operating theatres, Recovery Unit and Day Surgery Unit. Our service is seven days per week with an on call services overnight. We have a range of surgical specialties including general surgery, ear, nose and throat, obstetrics/gynaecology, urology, dental and orthopaedics. We are embarking on a new redevelopment commencing 2026 and will be increasing our operating suite capacity within the redevelopment. The Nursing Unit Manager role is responsible for the operational management and leadership of nursing/ staff to ensure the provision of high quality patient and family centred care and nursing and or midwifery excellence at unit/ward level.

Ideal Candidate

- Current unencumbered Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Extensive post registration experience in a relevant clinical area with clinical management experience in a tertiary/district health care facility.
- Demonstrated advanced communication and negotiation skills and experience in conflict resolution.
