Clinical Nurse Educator - Avondale Heights Care Community
POSITION DESCRIPTION | EDUCATION COORDINATOR (REGISTERED NURSE) POSITION PURPOSE: The Education Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance to the Care Manager in coordinating and delivering education in the Care Community. The Education Coordinator is expected to demonstrate initiative and to role model the behaviours that support Opal’s values. REPORTING STRUCTURE: This position reports to the Care Manager and is based in the Care Community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership & Culture Support the Care Manager in providing leadership and guidance to the care team Demonstrate a leadership style that fosters collaboration with residents, resident representatives and team. Act as a lead clinical resource Demonstrate the Vision, Mission and Values of Opal through all actions and behaviours Supports less experienced clinical team members and at times acts as a preceptor for the new clinical team members Education Support the CM in ensuring orientation and mandatory training is conducted in line with Opal’s policies and procedures Delivers AutumnCare training to all newly team care members and at regular intervals to all current team members as identified by the CM As directed by the CM conducts 15-minute toolbox sessions and other clinical education as identified Provides one on one informal clinical education sessions where required When directed by the CM conducts team competencies SELECTION CRITERIA: Current Practicing Registration as a Nurse with AHPRA for at least 2 years Aged care; health care or service industry experience (experience in a highly regulated service setting) Current and suitable police check Knowledge of the aged care industry, regulations and funding (AACQA; ACFI) Qualifications and/ or experience in workplace training (e.g. Cert IV TAA) Understanding of Complaints Resolution Scheme Understanding of relevant standards and licensing Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety framework and regulations Competencies Comprehensive clinical skills and knowledge Sound interpersonal and communication skills Ability to build trust Initiative and ability to support change Strong prioritisation and time management skills High level of proficiency in using Clinical Care software systems Ability to support compliance with the regulatory standards Proactive:
