Job Opportunity: Senior Assistant Psychologist

This exciting opportunity allows a psychology graduate to join our integrated care system and contribute to delivering psychologically informed care.

The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, providing assessments and low-level interventions while contributing to staff training and multi-agency collaboration. Supervision from a senior psychologist and structured professional development are integral to the role.

About the Role

* Conduct risk assessments and risk management with the multi-disciplinary team.
* Assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups.
* Perform protocol-based psychological assessment using appropriate psychometric measures, direct and indirect observation, semi-structured interviews under the supervision of a qualified HCPC Registered psychologist.
* Deliver person-centred care involving the psychological treatment and/or management of complex problems as required.
* Exercise judgement based on good practice (NICE) and local operating procedures.


Requirements

* Able to establish and maintain empathic relationships with people in significant distress or who are cognitively impaired, as well as their families and carers.
* Able to communicate effectively and sensitively.
* Able to make good use of clinical supervision in a group and/or individual format.
* Able to contribute to risk assessment drawing on complex and multiple sources of information, under clinical supervision.


Desirable Qualifications & Experience

* BPS accredited degree in Psychology.
* Experience working with members of the public, particularly those experiencing drug and alcohol related issues.
* Ability to analyse and communicate complex information verbally and in writing.
