About The Role
The organisation is seeking a highly experienced APS6 Senior HR Policy Advisor to lead the development and implementation of strategic HR and workplace relations (WR) policies. This role requires a proactive and solutions-focused professional with exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of thriving in a dynamic and policy-focused environment.

Contract Type: Permanent / Ongoing role; S26 Preferred
Location: Canberra, ACT
Salary Bracket: $94,563.00 – $105,910.00 + Super (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategic and contemporary HR and WR policies.
* Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and reviews of complex HR policy issues and legislation.
* Provide high-level policy advice and recommendations under tight deadlines.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including unions and delegates.
* Lead and support consultation and negotiation processes, balancing diverse interests.
* Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, and correspondence for senior management.
* Deliver secretariat support to high-level consultative committees.
Key Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated expertise in HR policy, workplace relations, and employment legislation.
* Proven experience developing and implementing HR frameworks and policies.
* Strong analytical and research capabilities with attention to detail.
* Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage stakeholder engagement and complex consultations effectively.
* Experience with enterprise bargaining processes within the APS or similar environments.
* Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to deliver outcomes under pressure.
