Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead the strategic retirement of Council systems as part of a large transformation program.
* Develop and deliver a comprehensive decommissioning plan for Council systems.
* Drive strategic direction, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across business units, IT, vendors, and executive teams.
* Ensure secure data migration, archival, and retention of sensitive Council information.
* Manage system shutdowns, dependency mapping, infrastructure removal, and reporting.
* Budgets and contracts must be appropriately managed and closed out.
* Maintain meticulous documentation and lead post-implementation reviews to inform future improvements.

* Oversee the successful delivery of complex technical projects.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in IT and strong experience delivering complex technical projects.
* Demonstrated expertise in system decommissioning within a Local Government environment.
* Strong financial and project management skills (PRINCE2 certification desirable).
* Able to influence, negotiate, and build strategic relationships across diverse stakeholders.
* Experience leading specialist teams through complex change.
* High-level judgement, problem-solving, and ability to navigate politically sensitive environments.
Please note that experience in a similar role within a Local Government setting is highly regarded but not essential.
