About the Opportunity
At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work
together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. We are currently
seeking a Waste Depot Attendant to join our dedicated Waste Services
team within the Utilities Operations group. In this role, you'll work across
all Council Waste Transfer Stations, helping the community dispose of waste
safely, efficiently and responsibly.
You'll provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean
and safe site, and ensure waste and recyclables are managed in accordance with
regulations and environmental standards.
You'll also play a hands-on role in the day-to-day
operations, from operating the weighbridge and plant equipment to inspecting
loads and maintaining accurate records through our WasteMan system.
The successful candidates will be employed on a rotating
roster, which includes working weekends and public
holidays.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* A
current Class C Driver Licence
* Strong
communication skills, both in following instructions and assisting
customers
* A
commitment to safety, with an understanding of the Work Health &
Safety Act & Regulations
* Basic
computer skills, including the ability to reconcile cash receipts and use
data entry systems
* A
positive, customer-focused attitude and the ability to work well within a
team environment
* Willingness
to work on an irregular roster, including weekends and public holidays
On a typical day this role will:
* Operate
the transfer station and use WasteMan software to record transactions and
waste data
* Inspect
and direct loads to ensure correct disposal and compliance with site
requirements
* Operate
and maintain plant and equipment associated with the transfer station
* Monitor
and manage transfer bins, green waste, scrap metal, and recyclables
* Keep
the site clean, safe and well-presented for staff and community users
* Undertake
inspections and maintain accurate records in line with the Operational
Environmental Management Plan (OEMP)
* Provide
friendly and informative waste disposal advice to customers
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week, rotating roster)
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $ per
week with the opportunity for competency-based progression up to $ per
week.
