A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects is now seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing business in Canberra ACT.
They work across refurbishments, repairs, remediation, demolition, upgrades, HVAC and other civil works. Project sizes range from smaller assignments to projects over $10m. Projects are generally Industrial, Defence or Commercial in nature; experience with similar projects or similar buildings and infrastructure will be an advantage. Current projects include façade refurbishments and internal refurbishments.
As a Project Manager, you will need to have strong commercial acumen, contracts management, design management, OHS, programming and planning experience, and the ability to run meetings with consultants and subcontractors to deliver high‐quality service that meets and exceeds client expectations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to
* Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate them to the team
* Project delivery from inception through to completion
* Ensure construction programmes are followed and project quality is delivered on programme
* Identify and manage construction risk throughout projects, escalating issues when required
* Manage project expenditure and cash flow
* Management and achievement of external engineering design aspects of projects
* Design management
* Manage subcontractors on site
* Manage and maintain HSEQ requirements on the project
* Produce progress reports
* Deliver and manage client expectations
Qualifications and Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
* Minimum 3–10 years of experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish, ideally from a Tier 1 or 2 background
* Proven leadership ability in building and motivating teams to deliver high‐quality projects
* Previous experience delivering greenfield projects
* Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements / standards
* Strong planning and project financial reporting skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Well‐developed interpersonal skills
* Experience with Microsoft Office suite
* Construction Safety Induction (white) card
